Hi. I’m Xavi. I’m a relentless traveler and backpacker, and I love hostels, but I’ve also had some bad experinces with them.
I travelled for 12 months around Southeast Asia and, after various uncomfortable stays in ‘recommended’ hostals (even hostals recommended by online travel agencies and well positioned on booking engines), I decided that things had to change.
I created Hostelmaniacs – a hostel directory, certified by experienced travelers and backpackers. My mission is to help other travelers enjoy their time in hostels, and to advise owners on how to make you, the travelers, feel at home by easing your moments of rest and socialization.
And you, whether traveler or hostel owner, are an important part of this project. We’re going to create something, and change everything.
